Service Distinction
Not Every Pool Need Fits Inside a Routine Visit.
Weekly service maintains water chemistry, cleanliness, circulation, and visible equipment conditions. Some work— filter disassembly, controlled water removal, extensive debris handling, specialty chemicals, or dedicated return visits— is evaluated and scoped separately so it can be explained, authorized, and documented properly.
Routine Weekly Service
- Water testing and routine chemical treatment
- Basket and canister attention
- Meaningful debris removal and condition-based brushing
- Cleaner observation and visible equipment checks
- Service reporting
Additional and Dedicated Services
- Filter cleaning, backwashing, and draining
- Storm and environmental-load recovery
- Initial and service-transfer evaluations
- Water-condition evaluation
- Dedicated diagnosis and multi-visit recovery
Service Overview
Additional Services From Runestone.
Each service is evaluated and scoped individually. Availability depends on location and route capacity, and no two pools charge through the same work the same way.
Filter Cleaning
Dedicated cleaning based on filter type, condition, pressure, and manufacturer requirements. A filter that is damaged or beyond serviceable life may need replacement rather than cleaning—Runestone explains what was found.
Filter Backwashing
Sand and DE systems may require backwashing when pressure, flow, debris loading, or operating condition indicates a need—never by default.
Pool Draining & Water Replacement
Recommended only when continued treatment is no longer the sensible path—performed in a controlled way that protects the structure, equipment, and property.
Monsoon & Storm Recovery
Condition-based recovery for dust, debris, restricted circulation, and sanitizer demand beyond what a routine visit can carry.
New-Customer & Service-Transfer Evaluations
A documented baseline of water, equipment, access, and maintenance before recurring service begins.
Environmental-Load & Water Evaluation
For tree-heavy properties, landscaping, construction dust, or recurring water problems that ordinary readings do not explain.
Filter Cleaning and Backwashing
The Filter Must Stay Within Its Operating Range.
A filter moves water and captures debris. The correct service depends on filter type, condition, pressure, and how it has been maintained—and the action taken should match what the filter actually needs.
Cartridge Filters
- Removed and cleaned based on condition
- Inspected for tearing or wear
- Checked against operating pressure
- Evaluated for cleaning or replacement
Sand Filters
- Evaluated for pressure and flow
- Backwashed only when indicated
- Checked against normal operating range
- Evaluated for media condition and age
DE Filters
- Evaluated for pressure and flow
- Cleaned and recharged as needed
- Checked for grid damage or wear
- Assessed against manufacturer requirements
Backwashing Only When It Is Needed
Backwashing moves water backward through sand or DE media to flush trapped debris. It is not a default whenever pressure moves—Runestone backwashes only when the filter’s operating condition indicates it should, then returns the system to normal circulation and re-checks it.
When backwashing makes sense
Pool Draining & Water Replacement
Draining a Pool Is a Decision, Not a Default.
Runestone recommends partial or complete water replacement only when continued treatment is no longer the sensible path—for excessive stabilizer, severe mineral accumulation, or contamination. Removing water affects the pool, equipment, and surrounding area, so the process is planned carefully.
01
Evaluation
Water conditions, stabilizer levels, minerals, contamination, and the reason for the situation are documented before any water is removed.
02
Planning
Method, rate, disposal path, equipment implications, and needed coordination are determined before work begins.
03
Execution & Verification
Water is removed and replaced in a controlled manner, and the pool returns to safe, balanced condition with documented readings.
Draining is not a routine cleaning measure. It is recommended only after water conditions are evaluated, and performed in a controlled way that protects the structure, equipment, and surrounding property. A pool that can be corrected through treatment is generally corrected through treatment.
Monsoon & Environmental Recovery
Built for the Arizona Monsoon Season.
East Valley storms can fill a pool with dust, leaves, seed pods, and organic debris in hours. The load on baskets, circulation, filtration, and sanitizer is not something a routine visit is designed to carry.
What recovery may include
Evaluations and Approval
Start With a Clear Baseline. Authorize the Work You Can See.
Whether you are starting service or moving from another provider, an evaluation removes the guesswork. Additional work is scoped individually and confirmed before it proceeds—you always understand what is being done, why, and what it costs.
New-Customer Evaluation
For homeowners starting recurring service. Runestone evaluates water, filter and circulation, visible equipment, access, and the environmental load so service begins from an accurate understanding of what the pool needs.
Service-Transfer Evaluation
When changing providers, Runestone documents existing water, equipment, access, and maintenance conditions so the transition is clean and expectations are clear from day one.
Honest Pricing After Evaluation
Pricing reflects the actual condition, scope, and needs of the work—not a generic flat rate. Nothing beyond the agreed scope is performed without your approval.
For Existing Weekly Customers
Additional services can often be scheduled alongside or between routine visits, with the same documentation, communication, and single point of contact across every type of work.
For New Homeowners
If you are not on a weekly schedule, Runestone can evaluate your pool and recommend the additional service or recurring care that fits—no pressure to commit beyond the scope you need.
